Airport Management

Matt Arnold graduated from Upper Sandusky High School in 1989 and received a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, with a commercial pilot rating from The Ohio State University in 1994. He entered military service in 1995 and served as a Naval Aviator, flying the F/A-18 Hornet and Super Hornet. As a Naval Officer, he served as a combat pilot, instructor pilot, Department Head, received a Master’s Degree from the Naval War College and became Commanding Officer of the Strike Fighter Weapons School in Virginia Beach, VA. Matt participated in multiple combat deployments in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Matt officially retired from the U. S. Navy in 2016 with more than 3000 military flight hours, including more than 200 combat hours and 650 carrier arrested landings. Matt brings more than 28 years of Aviation experience, including over 20 years of military service, to the Marion Municipal Airport as our Director.

Tony Hartman is a life-long resident of Marion and attended Marion City Schools, eventually graduating from River Valley in 1997.  After being in the workforce for several years, he went back to college to major in accounting, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2007.  Tony was hired by the City of Marion in 2014 as the Airport Operations Director. Tony also assists the City Parks Superintendent in daily operations of the Parks and Aquatic Center.  In his spare time, Tony spends time with his kids and volunteers for KASA, a local youth soccer organization, coaching and helping with administration.
